The selectors selection

Melle Mel's 3 track selection was so mind blowingly good I had to share it with you all. Here's what he wrote in his most recent email.

Here are my three selections

1.I'm in the mood for dancing - The Nolans
2. Dance the Kung Fu - Carl Douglas
3. You Make Me Feel Like Dancing - Leo Sayer
In case anyone has duplicated any of these, My 4th choice would be, Dancing
Queen by a Swedish group by the name of Abba. They won the Eurovision song
contest with Waterloo which went straight in at No1. Which makes them the
first foreign group to win. If anybody has a problem with this selection,
Could you let me know in writing.

Well people he did ask for a reply so leave your comments here.

Music is My Sanctuary

Been on a bit of a buying spree (ouch on the plastic!) re music here's what I've picked up in the past two weeks or so.

The trouble with Myself: Macy Gray (she's got a crazy voice but she's good)
How Life is On : Macy Gray
Blowin The Blues Away : Horace Silver Quintete & Trio (kickin jazz)
Sorcerer: Miles Davis (quality from a master)
Ascenseur pour L'echafaud : Miles Davis (more of the same)
Village Wide Underground : Erykad Badu (Some awesome tracks on it)
Emotions : Will Downing (blindin')
Invitation Only : Will Downing (album for album Will's far superior to Luther)
Surrender : Seek (quality soul from Atlanta, no gimmicks just quality)

The Future is Here

Last night l was at a house party in Wolverhampton the music was mainly reggae but it was GOOD and I am no big fan of it either. The DJ's played some blinding tracks from yesteryear (Easy by Jimmy Lindsay etc) as well as some great soul covers (I have a reggae copy of "The feelin's killing me" somewhere must dig it out). Anyway halfway through the night a chap appears with his laptop and did a set direct from his laptop after plugging into the mixer. He was using something called DJ traktor, which is a professional dj software and it looked the dogs b*llocks. The thing was it worked very well indeed, set up and press play, saves carrying your CD/vinyl around. The funny thing was no one batted an eyelid but I was all over his laptop looking at what he was doing. The future is here, right now, right here!

Syreeta Wright

Just read in a forum that the good lady has passed away due to cancer. She will be missed but her music lives on. My advice is get your hands on a copy of her debut album produced by Stevie Wonder in the 70's. Lets not forget she was Mrs Wonder for some years.

Caravans in Fleetwood have showers don't they?

As I have volunteered to attend the whole shebang, I now am dreaming about a shower situation occuring with you know who! Hopefully, we'll have the webcam set up streaming live on the internet ala big brother for all to see (at a price £4.99 per month) along with the DVD (Soulgirl Showers Vol. 1 - £14.99 includes many extras!), which we'll be able to sell later at Prestwich. Now how much would we pay to see a similar situation as per this photo and say any of you stumbled upon it would you 1) keep quiet and watch 2)try and find your digital camera for memeory recall purposes. 3) After 10 minutes attempt to join by pretending you wanted to take a shower. 4) Find the biggest box of kleenex and just watch and w*nk

Tuff choices for all!

Diggin in the CD Boxes

Pulled out this little gem from a band called juice Danish Soulsters, would it make it at Prestwich?

Looking for the Big G

This is an public information broadcast for those of you lacking in knowledge of the ladies inner anatomy, this might get you some extra points but remember to remove all rings and gloves before having a go!

Friday Night's Alright for Dancin'

All I can remember is that the music was pretty crap in parts and I eneded up pissed by accident! The highlight(not) of the evening had to be RS playing Luthers'Better Love' and it isn't even good to dance to. Personally the room needs a slight jazz injection nothing too hardcore but the odd Tania maria 'Come with Me' or 'Caveman Boogie' wouldn't go amiss. I reckon one of us should step up to the plate and give it a whirl as we couldn't do any worse could we. If things got really bad we could always throw on Body Fusion! - Mr Fixit

p.s. I was hoping this young lady would be there but there's always next month!
